Robert and Raquel are both ordained ministers with the Assemblies of God. Robert has double Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Religion, a Master's in Theology from Continental Theological Seminary and has spent 22 years in the ministry including: four church plants, and three years as a missionary in Northern Ireland working to build community and stabilize the peace among Catholics and Protestants. Raquel has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Masters in International Business from the University of Ulster and has worked in accounting and finance for 18 years. They have served in Antwerp, Belgium, an international city of a half million people and is the 2nd most diverse city per capita in Europe. Within the past 5 years they have successfully planted a cafe-style church in the heart of Antwerp that has reached secular Europeans and immigrants from all over the globe. Robert and Raquel provide ongoing mentoring and volunteering opportunities to Missionary Associates from the U.S. and intern opportunities for students from Continental Theological Seminary in Belgium.
We believe that God can bring positive change into people's lives and we invited people to journey with us. In the international city of Antwerp we started a coffee-house style church & community center that has reached out by helping with social integration, kids, overcoming addictions, and other social efforts. Centraal Christian Community has now ministers to many of the local residence of the city of Antwerp through several groups & events that have helped people make friends and put their faith in Jesus.
Our goal now is to inform and train others on what we have done, and to raise up a future generation of church planters and ministers at Continental Theological Seminary in Brussels.
Europe needs more vibrant, authentic churches that can effectively relate to both internationals and local Europeans. With your help and by God’s grace, we endeavor to raise leaders who can church plant in secular contexts and provide opportunities for them to volunteer and serve in various church plants throughout Belgium.
